laboratory qualified "MOCF and SEM" by the Ministry of Health
(D.M. may 14th, 1996).
The Politecnico's laboratory is
safely equipped to perform treatments and analysis of synthetic and
natural materials containing asbestos. The equipment for the analysis
includes polarized and phase contrast microscopes, macroscopes,
mills for release index, eccentric mills, crushers, ultrasonic bath and
acetone vaporizer.
 
The laboratory allows the execution of numerous certifications,
including:
- Release index of breach materials;
- Total quantitative determination of asbestos;
- Determination of asbestos content in rocks,
in soils, in fine fractions, in fibercement
plasters, in vinyl and in airbornes.
 
Amosite and actinolite SEM analysis.
The main purpose of Temporary Laboratory at COCIV - Arquata
Scrivia (AL) is analyze natural materials to
identify and quantify asbestos. This laboratory is equipped to perform
both samples preparation and analysis in complete safety.
The instrumentation includes:
- Evolite chemical suction hood;
- Eccentric mill;
- PID System stove;
- Optical microscope with polarizers and lenses for contrast
phase;
- Ultrasonic bath;
- FESEM Tescan.
