Nicola M. Pugno has recently received, from the European Research Council, the ERC StG Ideas (see ERC Press).
The first paper related to this project us earned us the cover of Nature (see ERC Press, February 2 2012).

In 2009, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Politecnico di Torino, the first laboratory studying also living animals and equipped with a nanotensile testing machine, the Laboratory of Bio-inspired Nanomechanics "Giuseppe Maria Pugno", has been launched.
