International Master Course in Physics of Complex Systems

Nowadays, in order to make innovations in an advanced scientific and technological context - new materials, nanoscience, system biology, neuroscience, computation, network engineering, web economy, financial markets modeling - it is mandatory to master the most advanced concepts and methodologies for complex systems. This is why we have set up a master program, based in prestigious sites in Italy and France, which aims to offer the best techniques needed to attack interdisciplinary problems.

The aim of the international master in Physics of Complex Systems is to shape professionals and/or potential researchers able to jointly apply knowledge and methodologies from modern physics, applied mathematics, information engineering and computational biology to the analysis, modeling and simulation of complex systems.

The program is organized in four semesters:
1) a first semester in Trieste at SISSA (International School for Advanced Studies) and ICTP (the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics) or, for the French students, in one of the parisian universities (courses in French);
2) a second semester in Torino at the Politecnico di Torino University;
3) a third semester in Paris at a consortium involving Universities Pierre & Marie Curie (Paris 6), Paris Diderot (Paris 7), Paris-Sud (Paris 11) and the École Normale Supérieure at Cachan.
4) the fourth semester is devoted to a European multidisciplinary Spring School and to a research stage.

Admission will be granted on a competitive basis and fellowships will be available to support mobility of the selected students.
