Biochemical Laboratory
In order to perform biological protocols and processes, the chemical laboratory disposes of biological bench, equipped with the following instrumental facilities
PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) Thermocycler for Nucleic Acids amplification
The Techne TC-312 system is capable to automatically regulate the optimal temperatures for PCR cycling with high rates of heating-cooling ramps and high efficiency in heat transfer.
Nucleic Acid Electrophoresis Apparatus
The system consists in a Consort EV243 Electrophoresis Power supply, operating in the following parameter ranges:
coupled to a VARI-GEL horizontal unit acrylic-made, for hosting a UV transparent agarose gel for Nucleic Acids separation.

UV Transilluminator system for detection of PCR products
The AlphaDigiDoc-RT system allows analyzing several types of gels, including agarose and acrylamide nucleic acid gels stained with various dyes, such as ethidium bromide, SYBR® Green, etc. A MultiImage® UV Light Cabinet and an 8 Megapixel digital Camera (Olympus), mounted on the top of it, are included. By the AlphaEase FC software, the apparatus can be entirely run from a computer.
