In the immediate post-war time, Isotta Fraschini overhauled engines which were war surplus and licence manufactured Lorraine Dietrich 12 Db engine. Isotta Fraschini 12 Db, a V arranged 12 cylinder engine, water cooled, constructively shows the typical features of V engines. Serially produced, the 12 Db was installed on seaplanes Macchi M7 (fighters) and M24 bis and on Caproni Ca 73.
