Research Scientist in Maritime Engineering (Marine Environment) and Marine Navigation. High experience in synoptic meteorology and forecasting in marine environment. Good experience in Oceanographic Instruments (Visiting Professor in “TP Mer”- Marine Engineering, SOCRATES/ERASMUS Program, at Institut des Sciences de l’Ingenieur de Toulon et du Var - University of Toulon and Var - France).

Education from the age of 16

Age 16 to 18: Scientific high school.

Age 18 to 23: Turin Polytechnic - Degree in Civil Engineering - Hydraulics Section (BEng+MEng). Thesis on “Fundamental and complementary problems of the Venetian lagoon system” (Thesis in Marine Engineering; subjects: pollution of the sea and shipping's safety).

Age 23 to 24: Livorno Naval Academy. 7 month course (3 month: course + 4 month: training) for Naval Officers in Harbour Offices (Coast Guard). MSc in Port Operations.

·       Director of Research and responsible for the realisation and management of the Convention between the Department of Hydraulics T.I.C. and Mascalzone Latino Challenger for America's Cup 2003. "Chief Meteorologist" for Mascalzone Latino AC2003.

·       Responsible for the realisation and management of the Convention between the Department of Hydraulics T.I.C. and the Prada America’s Cup 2000, to activate a transmission service for data and meteohydrological maps to monitor the navigation’s risk (Meteorologist) and statistical analysis of meteorological data in the Hauraki Gulf (Auckland – NZ) with weather data processing packages.

·       Appointed adjoint head in the Research “The risk of the meteomarine forecasts in limited area” funded by Italian Department of Research.

·       Responsible of Research “Operational meteohydrology and forecasting in tropical zone” funded by Todds-Della Valle.

·       Director of Research “Real-time forecasting and control” funded by Turin Polytechnic. Responsible for use of flow model MIKE 21-DHI.

·       Director of Research “Economic value of meteohydrological forecasts in alpine basin: operational application” funded by C.N.R.-G.N.D.C.I.

·       Senior Fellowship subsidised by N.A.T.O.-C.N.R., for the research project “Actual methods for meteo and sea wave forecast: applications and control of their reliability” undertaken at MétéoMer (tutor: Dr. Ing. Pierre Lasnier).

·       Forecaster for different sailboats in Ocean Race.  

1998-1999: Meteorologist for Monaco Radio for the assistance at navigation in Gulf of Bengala and in Atlantic Ocean (real time assistance to cargo and sail boat).  

1996-2000: Collaborator for the marine meteorology section of the Italian magazine “Fare Vela”.

·       Junior Fellowship subsidised by COTRAO (Communauté de Travail des Alpes Occidentales), for the research project “Meteorology in the design of hydraulic works and problems related to environmental protection” undertaken at the LRH of the EPFL (tutor: Prof. W.H. Graf).

·       Organisation and management of the convention between Turin Polytechnic - Department of Hydraulics and Compagnie Générale des Eaux (C.G.E.). Organisation and management of the scholarships funded by C.G.E.

·       Appointed head of the installation and management of the Meteohydrological Laboratory of the Department of Hydraulics, presented to the public at a conference entitled “The meteoclimatic centre of the D.I.T.I.C. of Turin Polytechnic” organised by the Italian Hydrotechnical Association on 18/5/1994.  

1990 - 1991: Officer (Lieutenant) in the Italian Navy in the Coast Guard Corps, serving at the Harbour Office of the port of Imperia. In April 1991, following the Haven oil tanker disaster in the Gulf of Liguria, seconded to the Crisis Unit of the Imperia's Prefecture (Meteorologist), also acting as Liaison Officer with the French Anti-pollution force for the competences in the problems of the Hydrography, Navigation and Meteorology.
