The problem:

  • Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) hospitalized patients in Italy: 490K / year
  • Italian healthcare expenditures due to late diagnosis of AKI in hospitals: € 3 B / year
  • Current solution to monitor kidney’s failure: manual reading of the urine level contained in the urine bag
  • Problems of current solution:
    • Data inaccuracy
    • Lack of analysis of collected data

Our Solution:

  • A medical device on hospitals beds for:
    • Accurate and continuous monitoring of Urine Output
    • Early diagnosis of Acute Kidney Injury through machine learning algorithms
  • Italian maximum potential sales in ICU* (target market): € 36.5 M / year
  • Potential ICU Return on Investment: 10x
