Francesco Accurso joined the e3 team as a PhD student of Energetics. He is the recipient of a scholarship funded by Wärtsilä Italia S.p.A. His research activity aims to develop a 1D-CFD predictive combustion model for large bore dual fuel marine engines, that are fueled with natural gas and ignited by the combustion of a small quantity of diesel fuel
Francesco received the M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino
in October 2018. His Master Thesis focused on the development of an energy management
strategy capable to consider the electric power for electric supercharger in the power split
optimization for a 48 V Mild-Hybrid vehicle. Previously he has worked as intern in Powertech
Engineering S.r.l. on electrified powertrain simulation and energy management strategies
optimization.
