While working on her M.Sc. thesis project, she spent four months in Geneva (CH) at the Institute for Environmental Science (ISE) under the supervision of Prof.\u00a0 Walter Bertoldi (University of Trento) and Dr. Virginia Ruiz-Villanueva (ETH Zurich). Her thesis \u201cObserva<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">tion and modelling of large wood dynamics in braided rivers\u201d was focused on the combination of different approaches to study wood transport processes in multichannel rivers: remote sensing, numerical and physical modelling. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/areeweb.polito.it\/ricerca\/groundwater\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/costanza_gamberini_gw-300x225.png\" alt=\"\" class=\" wp-image-2567 alignleft\" width=\"327\" height=\"246\" srcset=\"https:\/\/areeweb.polito.it\/ricerca\/groundwater\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/costanza_gamberini_gw-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/areeweb.polito.it\/ricerca\/groundwater\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/costanza_gamberini_gw.png 503w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 327px) 100vw, 327px\" \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">After her graduation in March 2018, she obtained the licence to practice as Civil and Environmental Engineer and she worked for 3 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">months as Engineering Technician Assissant at the Consorzio di Bonifica in Piacenza. There she mainly conducted field work, making topographic measurements on steep mountain rivers and designing river engineering works.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Currently she is a Research Fellow in Dr. Ing. Alessandro Casasso Geothermal Group inside The Groundwater Research Group lead by Prof. Rajandrea Sethi. At the moment her research activity is divided between two different projects:<\/span><\/p><ul style=\"text-align: justify;\"><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Assessing the environmental impacts of Domestic Hot Water (DHW) plants with a focus on GHG emissions. In particular evaluating the economic feasibility and the environmental convenience of replacing standard DHW dedicated gas boiler with air-source heat pumps (HP).<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Piter Alpimed INNOV, a project developed inside the ALCOTRA programme \u2013 which is one of the European cross-border cooperation programmes \u2013 that covers the alpine territory between France and Italy.
