It is based on the thermal exchange and\/or storage within the shallow ground. At present, this technology is widespread in central-northern Europe countries such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Sweden, while its use in Italy is still limited, although it is fast growing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project &#8220;Assessment and mapping of the potentialities of low-enthalpy geothermal energy in the province of Cuneo&#8221; aims at increasing the diffusion of geothermal heat pumps through the following actions i) raising awareness of their economic and environmental advantages among potential users ii) give insights on the most suitable areas of this territory for GSHPs iii) provide information on the authorisation procedures for the authorisation of GSHP installations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project has been carried from october 2014 to september 2015 out by the research group of GW engineering and funded by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo (CRC).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project led to the publication of three peer-reviewed papers:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Casasso A., Sethi R., <em>G.POT: A quantitative method for the assessment and mapping of the shallow geothermal potential.<\/em>\u00a0Energy vol. 106 (2016), pp. 765-773. Attualmente questa tecnologia \u00e8 molto diffusa nei Paesi del centro-nord Europa (Germania, Austria, Svizzera, Svezia), mentre in Italia il numero di installazioni presenti \u00e8 limitato, sebbene in forte crescita.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il progetto \u201cStudio e mappatura delle potenzialit\u00e0 della geotermia a bassa entalpia nella Provincia di Cuneo\u201d ha come obbiettivo principale quello di incrementare la diffusione delle pompe di calore geotermiche sul territorio provinciale attraverso una serie di azioni:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; diffondere la conoscenza di questa tecnologia tra i potenziali committenti di nuovi impianti, dimostrandone i vantaggi economici e ambientali;<br \/>\n&#8211; fornire indicazioni sulle aree della Provincia nelle quali questa tecnologia \u00e8 pi\u00f9 redditizia;<br \/>\n&#8211; fornire una panoramica sulle procedure amministrative per l\u2019autorizzazione di questi impianti.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il progetto \u00e8 stato condotto dal gruppo di ricerca \u201cIngegneria degli Acquiferi\u201d del Politecnico di Torino-DIATI, diretto dal prof. Rajandrea Sethi, con il finanziamento della Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo. Le attivit\u00e0 del progetto sono state svolte da ottobre 2014 a settembre 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I risultati del progetto sono stati presentati venerd\u00ec 30 ottobre 2015 presso il Centro Incontri della Fondazione CRC, via Roma 17, Cuneo, dalle ore 14.30 alle ore 17.30.
