On Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11.30 pm, in the Aula Magna of the Politecnico di Torino, John Richardson, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research and Merav Opher, Boston University, Center for Space Physics, will give the MITOR colloquia titled The heliosphere's interaction with the interstellar medium: Observations and Models. The seminar reports on recent surprising observations sent by the two Voyager Crafts that are crossing the interface between solar plasma and the Milky Way Galaxy.
The collaboration between MIT and POLITO in the framework of the MITOR initiative refers specifically to the project "Laboratory simulation of planet-solar wind and interstellar medium/heliosphere interaction" and was initiated by John Richardson and Daniela Tordella from DIMEAS.
