Fiat S76 A Soc. An. Fiat-Torino, Italy 1913 |
|
This is the engine equipped with the largest aeronautic cylinder of Italian (and probably worldly) production; in fact, the 190 mm bore and the 250 mm stroke determine a unit cylinder capacity exceeding 7 liters. The manufacture of the S76 A was limited to a pre-series, as quite the whole production of dirigible engines manufactured by Fiat (S53 A, S54 A, N16). Some models were satisfactorily used during the Italy-Turkey war and at the beginning of the first world war. |
