Aldo Laurentini was born in Genova, Italy, in
1940. He received the Laurea in Ingegneria Elettronica from the
Politecnico di Milano in 1963. In 1965 he joined the Politecnico di
Torino, where he is Associate Professor of Computer Science. At present
he teaches Informatica Grafica (Computer graphics) to students of the
fifth year, and Sistemi Informativi ( fundamental computer algorithms)
to students of the third year at the Politecnico di Torino.He has a
long experience as a consultant in the area of software development.His
current scientific interests include: application areas as physically
correct simulation of the draping of clothes, performing non-intrusive
motion capture, and animating avatars on the Internet; theoretical
areas in computer vision and computational geometry , such as
developing the visual hull idea for object recognition or
reconstruction from their silhouettes or shadows, and art gallery
problems. Aldo Laurentini is member of IEEE and ACM, and author of more
than 60 papers in leading international journals and conferences. Top
Andrea Bottino
Andrea Bottino was born in Torino, Italy, in 1971.
He received his master degree in Computer Science Engineering and his
PhD from Politecnico di Torino in 1995 and 2000. He is currently a
researcher in Computer Science at the Dipartimento di Automatica e
Informatica of the same university. He's author of several journal and
conference papers. His current research interests include computer
graphics, computer vision, virtual reality, motion capture systems and
object oriented technology.

Matteo De Simone
Matteo De Simone received his master degree in
Computer Science Engineering and he's achieving his PhD from
Politecnico di Torino. Before joining to Politecnico, he worked for CSP, a MIUR Research
Laboratory where he
led the Keilab
laboratory -
focused on e-learning and knowledge management - and the EmsysLab - focused on
embedded
systems. He's currently working on computational geometry and sensor
positioning.

Alberto Orlandini was born in Borgomanero, Italy,
in 1984. He received his master degree in Computer Science Engineering
from Politecnico di Torino in 2008. He's currently working on image
processing for the SMAT project (Sistema di Monitoraggio Avanzato del
Territorio) in collaboration with Alenia Aeronautica.

Luca Matteo Boulard
Luca Matteo
Boulard was born in Torino, Italy, in 1983. He received his master
degree in Computer Science Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in
2008. After a brief period working as ICT consultant in Reply he's
currently focusing on image processing for the SMAT project and on
realistic avatar animation.
