CVA

Feasibility study of a CHP plant owned by Compagnia Valdostana delle Acque in the former Cogne AS area

anno: 1999
committente: Compagnia Valdostana Acque

The objective of the activity was the identification of the best technological solution for Società CVA to be supplied with a thermo electrical plant (in association to the hydropower plants it already owned), able to satisfy the potential energy demand of a set of different users.

The phases of this activity were:

  1. energy and power demand analysis, in order to evaluate the peak power demand conditions,
  2. comparison with the actual availability offered by the existing CVA plants,
  3. identification of the typology and capacity of the thermo electrical power plant to be installed,
  4. evaluation of the excess production to be sold to ENEL,
  5. evaluation of the availability of thermal power and energy recoverable from the flue gases from the steam generator. This thermal energy should have been used to satisfy the demand of the former Cogne AS plant dwellings
