Progetto Energia for the energy system of
Spina 3
(and of the Castello di Lucento)
In short, the main objectives of the project were:
- Valorising the local resources
first of all, by exploiting the hydro potential for energy production in place of the use of fossil fuels; - Reducing the fossil fuels
consumption
and, as a consequence, reducing the emissions form combustion processes in an urban area; - Creating systems and
infrastructures
to obtain a better quality of the built environment, deriving from the adoption of a multiservice tunnel to distribute of electricity and fluids for the thermal comfort in buildings.
To valorise the local resources, it would also be possible to:
- Reuse the cooling tower and inserting in its body flues of the boilers of the Energy Centre
- Use the complex of underground spaces (rooms and tunnels) for technological services, parkings and depots.
Alternatively to insertion of the flues into the cooling tower, some alternatives have been studied, but they need a careful assessment for the architectural integration.
