HISTORIC ARCHIVE OF POLITECNICO DI TORINO: "MANAGEMENT LIBRARY" FUND

The "Management Library" fund recently reordered and stocked, includes a set of writs and drawings produced by the Accounting of the Politecnico in one hundred years activity approx. The preserved materials cover a chronological range from 1851, for some papers related to the Technical Institute, to 1959, open year of the present headquarters of the Politecnico. In addition there is also a small appendix, reaching the first 70s, including pamphlets related to the activities of Centres and Institutes born in Turin university environment. The documentation was organised based on a classification scheme into 15 classes, reprocessed on the original classification pattern of papers.

Among documents kept at the fund there some copies of settling laws and regulations of the Italian Royal Industrial Museum and the Application School for Engineers, as well as preparatory materials of the merging design between the two bodies, that in 1906 gave birth to the Politecnico. Among drawings we find rare and significant graphic witnesses of extension for the Valentino Castle and the Palace of the Royal Industrial Museum, the two headquarters of the first Politecnico. Of two buildings we can have also an evidence by images reproduced on some pictures of 30s, kept among papers. The fund includes 22 strata deposited at the deposit Archive of the Central Accounting Office.
