Pietro Enrico Brunelli
He was born on 1st May 1876 in Chieti. Graduated in Civil Engineering at the Engineering School of Rome in 1898 e in naval Mechanical Engineering at the engineering School of Genoa in 1900, since 1905 Brunelli was full professor of Thermal Machines at the Engineering School of Naples. During the first world war up to 1919 the professor was officer in the Navy of S.P.E. with the degree of captain; in the naval reserve he became Colonel. Since 1914 he participated to the manufacturing of different ships (in 1912 he managed the work for rescuing the San Giorgio ship, which had been sunk).
In 1932 Brunelli was moved from the Engineering School of Naples to the Superior Engineering Institute of Turin at the chair of Steam Machines and technical Physics. He was a member of the National Body of Researches. Brunelli was commissioner of the Politecnico di Torino from 29th April 1945 to 19th November 1945 and later he was a director from 20th November 1945 to 29th March 1947. Brunelli died in Turin on 29th March 1947.
