Pietro Buzano   was born in Pinerolo (Torino) on 14th July 1911, attended the University of Turin where he graduated in Mathematics in 1931. He became professor of Analytical Geometry in 1942. In 1945 he moved to the Politecnico where he was appointed as professor at the chair of Applied Mathematics. Buzano in the years 1976-1980 was appointed as Dean of the Engineering Faculty of the Politecnico, and he excelled for his human and political talent in the years of the "student protest". Professor Emeritus since 1987, he died in Lecce on 31st August 1993.
