  Scipione Cappa

was born in Turin on 5th February 1857 and died in San Maurizio Canavese (Turin) on 3rd June 1910. In 1878 Cappa graduated in Civil Engineering at the Application School for Engineers of Turin. He becomes professor of Hydraulics and director in the Cabinet of Hydraulics and Hydraulic Construction, succeeding Prospero Richelmy.

In 1881 Cappa was appointed as an assistant at the Application School for Engineers in Turin, where in 1885 he became a full professor.

After a request by different concessionary companies for the distribution of drinkable water and different Municipalities, Cappa had interested for some years to the problem of improving water counters, proposing a type of mechanical counter replacing domestic tanks.

Cappa's activity in the building was reduced. He published the collection "Album degli ingegneri ed architetti. Scelta collezione di disegni delle pił pregiate costruzioni moderne" (Albums of engineers and architects. A chosen collection of most valuable modern buildings) (1884-1888).
