  Lorenzo Decugis

was born in Leghorn on 26th June 1864 from a French industrialist. Decugis graduated in engineering. In 1888-89 he was an assistant at the course of Mechanics Applied to Machines, at the Application School for Engineers of Rome.

In the autumn of 1889 Decugis was assistant of Cesare Thovez, a full professor of Mechanical Technology at the Royal Industrial Museum of Turin. In 1893 Decugis was appointed as director of the Association between users of boilers.

In 1903 he got the annually appointed teaching in Mechanical technology. Later on, he taught at the Politecnico di Torino Mechanical technology and Chemical Technology. He died in 1927.
