  Ignazio Maria Lorenzo Michelotti

was born on 22nd January 1764 and died on 11th March 1846 in Turin.
He was an hydraulic architect approved by the Royal University of Turin on 11th November 1784. Professor of Geometry and general inspector of the Royal Body of Civil Engineers and of Mines, Michelotti was also a general intendent and director of royal channels.

Member of Academies of Sciences in Modena and Turin and of the Royal Academy of Agriculture of Turin, Michelotti, between 1795 and 1825 looked after the design for several hydraulic works in Turin.

Among the several offices he got, there are also the appointments as temporary professor of Maths at the Royal University (1795), as director of rivers and superior inspector of national channels and bealers as a national hydraulic engineer (1800).
