Giuseppe Albenga

was born at Incisa Scapaccino (Asti) on 9th June 1882. In 1904 Albenga graduated in Engineering in Turin.
In 1914 he was a temporary lecturer of Road and Railway Construction at Bologna University, whereas later on he achieved the chair in Science of Construction.
In 1928 Albenga was called by the Politecnico di Torino for the chair of Bridge Construction.
Later on he became rector of the Politecnico from 1929 to 1932.
He died in Turin on 19th January 1957.
His studies in the fields of aeronautic constructions, theory and application of civil constructions, mainly bridges, and in the history of engineering and construction, are important.
