CAPETTI'S COLLECTION

This is a collection of alternative engines for aircrafts, preserved at the department of Energetics.

The collection includes sixty-five alternative engines, manufactured between 1907 and 1944. Twenty-eight of them were manufactured based on an Italian design and make, the others are of British, German, Austrial, French and American production. Some specimens are unique all over the world, such as models Luct 80 HP, Fiat S76A, Itala Cappa 18. The collection includes 2/4 stroke engines, controlled start engines (Otto) and compression start engines (Diesel), with a cylinder capacity ranging from 49 cc. to over 5000 cc., (gasoline) and from2000 to 20000 (diesel).

Among most valuable engines, we can signal: Alfa Romeo 2500 cc. 6 cylinders, Fiat Dino 2400 cc. 6 cylinders, Fiat 8V 2000 cc. 8 cylinders, Nsu R080 995 cc. Wankel Birotore, Dkw 2T 1000 cc. 3 car-typed cylinders, Gm 2T Diesel, 20000 cc. 6 cylinders mouned on the Schermann.
