Regione Piemonte
Reference Energy System - RES
The
Reference Energy is the structure on the basis of which the
model operates. It is a complete description of the supply-demand
chain of the regional energy system: availability of primary energy
sources, energy transformation, conversion and transport processes,
and final energy uses.
On the basis of the RES it is possible to classify the end-use
categories and to identify the technologies that have to be analyzed
in a more detailed way. Each technology (existing or
planned/possible in the medium/long term) is characterized by a set
of physical, economical and environmental parameters.
In particular, the following data have been considered.
a) Economical characteristics:
investment costs, fixed (i.e. dependent on the production level)
and variable (i.e. not dependent on the production level)
operating and maintenance costs, lower and upper limits on
market penetration;
b) Technical characteristics: efficiency, utilization factor, fuel type, life, capacity, capacity due to investments that were made prior to the initial model period, lower and upper bounds on capacity;
c) Environmental characteristics: emission factors related to emissions having different environmental impacts (local or global). .
