Cristian Sánchez holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geological Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a Master’s degree in Petroleum and Mining Engineering from Politecnico di Torino. His Master’s thesis focused on geochemical mapping and the spatial analysis of rare earth elements (REE) and platinum group elements (PGE) using advanced data analytics techniques.

After graduating in November 2023, Cristian joined the Groundwater Engineering Research Group as a research fellow. In collaboration with Eni Rewind, his research focuses on developing data-driven solutions for environmental monitoring, including data management, processing, anomaly detection, forecasting, and environmental data analysis in the context of groundwater monitoring.

Cristian is passionate about new technologies, innovation, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing. Outside of work, he enjoys dancing to Latin and Caribbean rhythms, watching movies and series, and staying active through various physical activities.
