Nicolò Giordano is a geologist with a PhD in Earth Science and a M.Sc. in Engineering Geology at the University of Torino, Italy. He spent 4 years as a post-doc research fellow at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique in Québec City, Canada, working on ground-source heat pumps and underground thermal energy storage in the remote communities of autochthonous peoples of Northern Québec. He has been the coordinator of the geothermal closed-loop working group within SAPHEA, a European research project looking to integrate geothermal technologies into 5th generation district heating and cooling grids. He now works as a fellow in the Groundwater research group carrying out field work within the SeTe Alcotra Innovation project that explores the feasibility of Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) pilot actions in the province of Cuneo as an adaptation measure to climate change.
