Francesca Nunzio holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Chemistry, with a strong background in analytical methods and environmental chemistry. She is currently a PhD student in the Groundwater research group, where her work focuses on the development of strategies for the removal of PFAS from contaminated water, using both batch and dynamic systems.

Her research also involves the investigation of degradation processes for chlorinated contaminants in groundwater, with particular attention to advanced oxidation processes. Laboratory work is a key component of her research, with a strong emphasis on chemical analysis using advanced instrumental techniques such as HPLC-MS (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) and GC-MS (Gas Chromatography).

Outside of her academic activities, Francesca enjoys walking, photography, and visiting new cities—interests that nourish her curiosity and broaden her perspective, both personally and professionally.
