Nicola Bartolini is a research fellow in the field of shallow geothermal energy, under the supervision of Prof. A. Casasso. He holds a B.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Florence, where he graduated with a thesis concerning the statistical analysis of rating curve reliability in the Arno river basin. He then continued his studies with a master degree at Politecnico di Torino, where he worked on the emission and formation processes of ultrafine particles in the urban area.
Nicola is currently working on environmental impacts of low-enthalpy geothermal systems, investigating the effectiveness of using propylene glycol in closed-loop geothermal heat pumps. His interests also include issues related to remediation techniques, water resources and treatments, climate change mitigation and control.
Nicola likes to spend his free time with friends, listening to music and awfully strumming guitar. He loves travelling and he cultivates different passions, among which literature, music and politics.
