THE ARSENAL AND THE THEORETICAL-PRACTICAL SCHOOL OF ARTILLERY AND FORTIFICATIONS
After the entrance of the Kingdom of Sardinia in the European board, in the first half of the Eighteenth Century, the subalpine government get ready to important and lightened reformations which involved the Army, the University, and the Industry. Knowing how important the technical bodies of the Armies (Artillery and Military Engineering) were, the Military Academy was reformed and a new Military Arsenal (1739) was built, new theoretical and practical Schools for Artillery and Fortifications were settled. They educate the new military engineer managers. These latter will be trained on the most recent scientific knowledge and technologic innovations. Due to several reasons, these schools can be considered as the first superior technical and scientific schools, where important scientists taught. They were L. Lagrange, G. Argentero di Bersezio, A. V. Papacino d'Antoni, S. B. Nicolis di Robilant, A. Giobert.
