THE VALENTINO PARK
Next to the Castle, since its origins (XVI century), a park was grown that became part of the residence of the Savoy in more and more organic manner.
In 1855 N. Tettamanzi proposed to organise the park giving it the "shape of Italy". As the industrial exhibitions were held in the park, Camillo Cavour proposed to locate the Industrial Museum in it, but the unity of Italy and the moving of the capital to Florence, definitely departed the Court's and Government's interests from the Valentino. Head office of the Botanic Gardens, in the North, the park definitively became a public area for citizens at the end of XIX century. In occasion of 1884 exhibition, the Valentino Park hosted, next to stands, the "Borgo Medievale" (Medieval Town).
