THE "NEW HEAD OFFICE" OF THE POLITECNICO
After the Second World War, in the rebuilding years, the Politecnico exits the war deeply injured and with the whole head office of the ex-industrial Museum fully destroyed. At this point, the idea of a new head office for the Politecnico becomes more and more real.
The "new" Politecnico is built at corso Duca degli Abruzzi, where once there was the sport plant of the Stadium. Then, the 1939 idea of a Politecnico head office along the Po river banks, in the South of the town, next to Lingotto, is left aside.
The inaugural cerimony is celebrated in 1958, 99 years later the constitution of the Application School for Engineers, decreed by the Casati's Law (1859).
